As part of its effort to implement ongoing service improvements, especially to facilitate more simple visa arrangements for tourists traveling to Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia - flag carrier of Indonesia - will introduce a new service “Immigration on Board” on Tokyo – Denpasar - Jakarta route starting 1 February 2010.
The trial of the service was carried out on Thursday (21/1) on Garuda Indonesia GA-881 flight which flying from Tokyo – Denpasar – Jakarta. The soft launch of the service witnessed by Ambassador of Indonesia to Japan Yusuf Anwar, Director General of Immigrations, Muhammad Indra, Director of Travel Documents, Visa and Immigration, Djoni Muhamad, and President & CEO Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar. “Immigration on Board” is a non queue and more simple immigration document process for foreign passenger during flight.

Garuda Indonesia launches Garuda Orient Holiday (GOH)
In an effort to increase the number of foreign visitors, particularly from Japan, to come and visit Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia recently launched the Garuda Orient Holiday (GOH) for Japan on Wednesday (20/1).
The launching took place in Tokyo, Japan and was officiated by the Ambassador of Indonesia to Japan, HE Jusuf Anwar and President & CEO Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar. Also attending the occasion were Garuda Indonesia's business partners, namely the Japan Tourism Board, wholeseller agents, travel agents, and other members of the hospitality and tourism industries.
GOH Japan is an in-house whole seller or unit that develops tour and travel packages to various Indonesian destinations for the Japanese market which is managed by Aerowisata, subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia. The products offered by GOH complement those already marketed in Japan. GOH's tour packages include ecotourism, adventure, special interests and others for the premium market.
In support of its future business development program that encompasses route development, frequency and capacity in regions other that Japan, Garuda Indonesia has already established GOH in Australia, New Zealand and Korea. Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia Holiday (GIH) was designed to cater for the domestic tourism industry.
Apart from increasing Garuda Indonesia's market share in the air travel market, the establishment of Garuda Orient Holiday (GOH) and Garuda Indonesia Holiday (GIH) will hopefully raise the flow of tourists to Indonesia, contributing to the success of Indonesia's tourism programs.
